ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE Artists in the Parks, Recreation & Culture’s Artist in Residence Program are working with individuals, groups and schools in local neighbourhoods, specifically Port Haney and Silver Valley. Spring community art workshops, lantern making, and SongCircle are available for free. RIVER OF LIGHT LANTERN MAKING This spring, learn how to make your own lantern using simple materials. For 2018, in addition to drop-in workshops for individuals, the focus will be on larger installations created by groups. If you’re part of a group looking for a fun, engaging art project to work on together, email robi@ robismith.com. All the lanterns will be part of our final, magical lantern installation in the park next to Davidson’s Pool on August 24 and 25. Workshops are free and open to all ages and skill levels. POSITIVE RESISTANCE COMMUNITY QUILT Paint your design on a quilt square to add to this multi-generational, multi-cultural, multi- representational quilt expressing hope for the future of Maple Ridge.
