ADULT 55+ & HEALTH PROGRAMS 50+ Functional Fitness Age: 40Y and up Exercise is important for every women at every stage of their lives and is arguably even more so when they are undergoing menopause; as it can prevent osteoporosis and increase bone health. With appropriate information, nutrition, exercise and attitude, menopause can be turned around to be seen as a fresh time of freedom and independence when women can feel empowered and energized! Let a fitness professional guide you through the best exercise programs during this unique stage of your life.

Fitness - TRX® - Small Circuit Training for 55yrs+ Age: 50Y and up

If you want to sweat, have fun, burn calories and increase your muscle endurance then Power Core TRX is for you! This mix of gravity resistance and movement provides the ultimate workout to train strength, endurance, balance, coordination, flexibility, power and core stability. Options given for all fitness levels.

The Osteofit - Get Up & Go! program offers an appropriate entry level exercise program for seniors with balance and mobility impairments that would otherwise be unable to attend a community based exercise class. This exercise program is specially designed to improve strength, balance and coordination as well as functional ability, independence and quality of life. Program designed by BC Women's Osteoporosis Clinic and in partnership with Fraser Health.

Indoor Pole Walking Age: 16Y and up

This Indoor Gentle Pole Walking class is for anyone wishing to walk at a slower pace and gently improve and strengthen their overall fitness level. Walks begin with 30 to 45 minutes of walking and eventually build to 60 minutes. Each class includes dynamic & static stretches as well as balance and strengthening exercises. Jun 7-28 This is a fun exercise program for individuals with Parkinson's Disease. We start with a warm up then move to exercises aimed at improving balance, gait, range of motion, agility, cognitive games then end with stretch and relaxation. All to improve quality of life. Must be able to climb up/down/ride stationary bike and walk independently or with walking aid. Patrons must fill out Par Med X form with Dr.'s consent signature prior to the start of the 4 week program. On The Move With Parkinson's Age: 25Y and up

Arthritis 1-2-3 Age:

40Y and up An Arthritis program that includes a balance of three types of exercises - #1. Range-Of-Motion, #2. Strengthening, & #3. Endurance -- can relieve the symptoms of arthritis and protect joints from further damage. ROM exercises get the joints to move and increase flexibility in the muscles. Strengthening exercises that targets specific muscle groups can be helpful as part of your arthritis treatment. Endurance for your heart and lungs (cardio done on chairs or standing) is important and can help control weight.
